Judge William Boyd
Court: Circuit Court of Cook County
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Judge William Boyd’s name exploded into public scrutiny after calling two teenagers “terrorists” for discussing their custody case on Instagram. The case involved social worker misconduct and alleged judicial retaliation. Rather than address their claims, Boyd ordered the children removed from their protective parent and placed into a supervised program. He also threatened arrest for further public speech.
Later, sources alleged that Boyd had accepted improper gifts and bribes from lawyers involved in the case. These claims remain under investigation, but the judge’s pattern of targeting free speech and empowering abusive guardians has drawn criticism from the legal and parental rights communities.
Advocates say Boyd uses the bench as a weapon to silence dissent. Victims describe his courtroom as “intimidating and lawless,” where rules shift to benefit connected parties.
