“I could take, give me thousands of bills. Any, I could pick any one of ’em. Yes, exactly. But I could take all thousand. And let’s say it’s a bill for $5,000, just 5,000, and it’s done by some bureaucrat. And if he would say, I’ll give you three. I don’t wanna pay you five. It’s too high. I’ll give you three. But they don’t do that. If a guy sends in a bill for 5,000, they pay 5,000. They expect to be cut. Everybody expects to be cut. When you send in a bill, they expect to be cut. They send in the bill higher. For the most part. This is true with lawyers, legal fees. When they send in legal fees, you, I can cut. I wish I had the time. I would save some, but I could cut these bills in half. Much better than half. But you offer people a much lower number because, you know, they, they actually put fat. I’m not even saying it’s just, it’s like a way of business. They put more on, because they expect to be negotiated.“

The rot isn’t limited to family court. Big Law firms like Duane Morris LLP have taken billing abuses to staggering heights.

The case of Noshirvan v. Couture et al., now pending in Fort Myers federal court, is a glaring example of legal betrayal.

Duane Morris represents a Florida doctor, his wife, and their businesses, defending a specious case brought by TikTok doxxer Danesh Noshirvan.

Known on TikTok as @ThatDaneshGuy, Noshirvan is a controversial figure infamous for doxxing U.S. Supreme Court justices, fueling cancel culture campaigns, and glorifying WOKE causes like child gender transition. His attacks led to death threats against Justice Brett Kavanaugh and contributed to the tragic death of Texas coach Aaron De La Torre.

While pretending to defend their clients, Duane Morris has billed close to $1 million—and allegedly committed staggering ethical breaches along the way.

Sources say the law firm and its lobbying arm are performing substantial work on behalf of ByteDance’s interests, TikTok’s parent company, particularly out of its Washington, D.C., and Atlanta offices, creating a glaring conflict of interest.

There was no legal conflict waiver because there couldn’t be one. Some of the doctor’s legal claims hinge on the fact that ByteDance enables Noshirvan’s harassment campaigns because TikTok provides Noshirvan with a paid “business manager” and shares in the content creation revenues.

Duane Morris’s double-dealing undermines its clients’ cases and could suggest that it protects ByteDance’s interests – an impermissible appearance of impropriety and division of loyalty.

Even worse, Duane Morris shamelessly disclosed protected healthcare information, violating both Florida’s Constitution and federal HIPAA laws. This wasn’t just a slip-up; it was a betrayal of the most intimate client secrets. According to filed court documents:

This case will not win any awards for how it’s been litigated. From an outsider’s view, the core of [Danesh Noshirvan’s Amended Claims] is based upon a private and HIPPA-protected journal entry written by Couture at the direction of her therapist, Dr. Michael Woulas, for healing purposes. My information shows that Couture was being treated and encouraged to share her therapeutic
writing with her intimate partner, Dr. Ralph Garramone. The journal entry, dripping with half-processed emotions, traumas, and PTSD, is the central exhibit of the SAC.

The mass populace knows the first job of a lawyer is to protect their clients’ rights and intimate secrets. That Duane Morris LLP ignored Couture’s privacy and HIPPA rights, didn’t
create a privilege log for those personal medical and therapeutic communications, and still has not sought corrective action from the courts is beyond the pale. There is no legal strategy (aside
from the ex post facto limitation of Duane Morris LLP’s own liability and reputational harm) that calls for the release of a client’s most intimate medical secrets in the first instance without
any fight, objection, or apparent notice to the client of their rights and options. No, there will be no lawyering awards there.

Instead of safeguarding their clients’ privacy, Duane Morris laid bare their own clients’ personal medical records, disregarding basic human decency, the Florida Constitution, federal law, and the fundamental expectations of the legal profession.

As a result, Noshirvan and his scumbag ambulance chaser lawyer, Nick Chiappetta of Lake Worth, Florida, amended the legal pleadings. He made even more outlandish claims against the doctor and his wife based on private communications made for therapeutic treatment with a medical doctor.

And then, with staggering audacity, Duane Morris had the gall to overbill their clients for the privilege of this betrayal—demanding payment for actions that should have resulted in disbarment, not invoices.

The Noshirvan lawsuit highlights the dark side of online activism gone rogue and the federal judiciary’s impotence in responding to emerging threats.

Noshirvan’s reckless abuse of social media, fueled by AI manipulation and fake accounts, has destroyed lives under the guise of holding others accountable. His ability to frustrate law firms like Duane Morris underscores a corrupt system where the true victims are silenced.
